ST. GEORGE – Police arrested a 36-year-old man Tuesday after he allegedly kicked in the door of a home in March and threatened to assault the resident inside.
On March 24, after Matthew Brigham Young of St. George returned to a Washington County residence he had visited earlier in the evening, he allegedly kicked in the front door of the residence, according to a probable cause statement written by Ivins-Santa Clara Public Safety Officer Jon Ward in support of the arrest.

After kicking in the door, Young allegedly entered the family room of the home and threatened to assault a woman, the statement said.
“Young caused extensive damage to the front door of the residence leaving it inoperable,” Ward wrote in the statement.
Young was identified by the woman and was later located, arrested and booked into the Washington County Purgatory Correctional Facility Tuesday.
He was charged with a second-degree felony for burglary of a dwelling, and a class B misdemeanor for criminal mischief intentionally damaging property. His bail pending trial stands at $10,630.
Young is scheduled to make his initial court appearance April 14.
Persons arrested or charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.
